Where to Put Your Digital Business Card: Email, LinkedIn, Signage, and Events

You built the card. Now put it where people already look — or it stays a bookmark that never earns a view.

This is a placement checklist: email, social, events, and print. No fluff.

Email signature

Every email is a passive intro: name, role, one line of proof, then View my card or Save my contact.

Keep it tight. Skip five social icons unless you truly maintain all of them.

LinkedIn and social bios

LinkedIn is where B2B trust is checked. Swap a generic homepage for your card when you want phone, email, booking, and portfolio in one tap.

Same idea for Instagram, TikTok, or link-in-bio tools — one hub for booking, DMs, and reviews.

Change the offer? Update the card once; every bio pointing to it stays current.

Events and in-person moments

Your card should be ready in under five seconds.

  • Save the QR to Photos
  • Practice opening the link before the room is loud
  • Text the link while you are still standing together

Speakers: put the QR on your closing slide. Decks get shared after the room empties — the code keeps working.

Offline signage and print

Table tents, open-house signs, vehicle magnets, invoice footers — passive traffic becomes views.

Use a clear CTA: Scan to save my contact beats a lonely black square.

Test distance and lighting before you print. A code that only scans from six inches fails on a storefront window.

Pair print with a light form on the card so late scanners still show up in analytics.

What to prioritize first

  1. Email signature
  2. Phone-ready QR or link for events
  3. LinkedIn

Add signage and campaign links after those three are live.
